Karate Fees

Shorin-Ryu is an international organisation and is represented in major provinces in South Africa. Shorin-Ryu is guided by a highly graded panel in South Africa. The chief instructor and president for South Africa is Kyoshi Claude Johnson, 8th Dan, based in Port Elizabeth.

Annual Affiliation

  • Students Affiliate to the various dojos and dojos affiliate to the Shorin-Ryu South Africa National Body.
  • Dojos and Students may NOT participate in tournaments or grading unless affiliations are paid.

  • Suits, equipment, badges, and weapons can be purchased from the Club.

Grading Info

  • There are Karate and Kobudo (karate weapons) gradings that occur during the year.
  • Dojos conducted gradings to the rank of Brown Belt for karate and Kobudo.
  • Black Belt Gradings are conducted annually in Gqeberha and Pretoria.

Pre-School Karate

Kids Karate

A fun and safe environment in which children learn the values of respect and self-control. Benefits include improved co-ordination and spatial awareness, confidence and so much more.

Teens Karate

Karate helps to develop physical fitness, lean muscle and in so doing a teen's positive self-image. It also helps to develop a healthy lifestyle and teaches the value of goal setting and the pursuit thereof.

Adults Karate

Adults tend to have less mobility in their joints as they age. Karate helps to develop flexibility around the joints in combination with strengthening the muscles to provide better mobility.

Family Karate

Karate is a fun activity that the whole family can enjoy together regardless of skill levels and age. It promotes a common interest as a family and serves to help motivate one another.
